Q. My Spectate connection isn’t working, is there anything I can do?

Try the following:

  • Hosts can also try to toggle the Spectate setting on and off. This will generate a new stream URL and session.  You should be able to immediately have Friends join or share the link.
  • Make sure Windows version and your drivers are updated before going into a new test session.
  • Hit Ctrl+R to refresh your browser or Plays app. You may want to try to do this a few times before calling that session a failure.
  • If nothing seems to be working, send in a Help request from both the host and the viewers. Let us know which usernames were in the session and any other relevant info that you may have.

Q. My friend used to see me in their friends list but can’t find me...what happened?

We just released a new feature that changes how your list is populated.  Only Friends will show up in this list. You can send them a request and once they confirm you will both be friends. Read more about Friends here.

Q. What browsers are supported?

Right now we recommend using the most up to date version of Chrome for testing. We do have it on our radar to bring on support for Firefox and Edge/IE in the future.

Q. My friend tried to watch from their, phone, why didn’t it work?

Currently there is no support for mobile devices. We do have plans to support mobile iOS and Android in the future.

Q. My app feels buggy in general is there anything I can do?

You may want to make sure there aren’t any Plays or Windows updates pending. Check if you see a blue bar at the top of your app. Sometimes restarting the app will be required.

Q. What’s the best way to send in a help ticket or my logs?

There are two ways to do this. If you are in the app, go to Settings > Help and select Spectate. If you are in a browser, use the Help button.
